Does the IronMan LXT850 Really Work? A Look at the Ironman Locking Inversion Table

Ironman LXT850The IronMan LXT850 is rapidly becoming a popular seller on Amazon. With a number of features to increase comfort and usability, it’s easy to see why.  However, this inversion table is not without its limits.

Many users swear by the inversion table’s ability to relieve back pain and improve posture.  With this particular table, you are also able to do sit ups and other abdominal exercises.

One thing that I really like about this particular model is that it locks into place.  This makes it a lot easier to gradually work your way up to a full inversion.  You won’t suddenly be going full tilt unexpectedly when you start using it.

Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of this model.

Pros

  • It’s one of the more comfortable tables currently available, with extra padding on the back.  This makes it a lot easier to use.
  • It locks into place, which prevents sudden tipping.
  • It is very sturdy.  So you don’t have to worry about it collapsing suddenly under you.
  • The customer service is very helpful.  If something breaks, they replace it.  They also help you while you are trying to get it set up, if you are having trouble.

Cons

  • It is  very heavy.  While this makes it sturdier, it is very hard to move.  You will need help getting it into your house when it arrives.
  • It is difficult to set up.  Again, the heaviness may play a factor in this.  The directions are a little hard to understand, but the customer service is good if you need help.
  • Packaging may be a problem in the shipping – it seemed like several people had parts damaged.  If this happens to you, contact customer service with the company directly. They send out a replacement part very quickly.

Can an IronMan LXT850 really help ease your back pain?  Many users are saying that it did.  For example, Dimitry said:

“I’ve used it for a little over a month a few minutes a day.  I used to wake up with stiffness, and now there is none.  Definitely recommended.  Just don’t try to move the box by yourself when it comes in – it’s very heavy!”

Teeter EP-550 Inversion Table

teeter ep-550 inversion tableIf you’ve seen any tv commercials lately, you may have seen the Teeter EP-550 Inversion Table advertised.  But is this table worth the higher cost?  Or would you be better off getting a less expensive model?

First, let’s look at some history.  Roger and Jennifer Teeter started Hang Ups Inversion Products in 1981.  Roger suffered from persistent back pain, and found that inversion was one way to relieve that pain after trying many other methods.  He then went on to start the Teeter brand which offer many safe and comfortable designs.

The Hang Ups EP-550 model is one of the most popular.  Teeter tables in general are a little more expensive than other inversion tables out there.  However, this is because they come with a lot more padding and testing than some other models.  Many people swear by the comfort and ease of use of this particular brand.

For example, Bob on Amazon started off a bit skeptical in whether this would help his back or not.  He suffered from sciatica and in a bout of pain, called to order the Teeter EP-550.  He got it together and used it once it arrived.  He then says “I can truthfully say that after using the board for one week, five minutes a day, the pain and any sign of the condition had disappeared.”  To read his full review, as well as other reviews, click here.

However, there are always complaints about anything you buy – I always check the negative reviews myself.  Here are a few of the negatives other users pointed out.

  • It was a little hard to put together.
  • While the device folds, it’s heavy once folded.  So hard to stash away.
  • Takes a while to get used to inverting (which is why it’s always good to work up to a full inversion).
  • Feet start to hurt when fully inverted for more than a few minutes (it’s suggested to wear thick socks or boots to relieve the pressure).

Here are the most popular positives:

  • Does relieve back pain within a few weeks if used consistently.
  • Complete relaxation once you’ve worked up to a full inversion.
  • Very solid product and well built.  Very sturdy.

The majority of people who reviewed the product swore by its ability to relieve back pain and stress.  While the Teeter EP-550 Inversion table cost a bit more, many people did like the additional comfort features and the ability of the table to fold.

Life Gear Inversion Table Review

life gear inversion tableOne of the more popular inversion tables a few years back was the Life Gear Inversion table. However, the company has since gone out of business. It’s hard to find parts and the table itself. So if you are searching for this particular table, you are out of luck unless you find a used one on Ebay.

That being said, this table did have a lot of good reviews. The price was reasonable and the quality was high. Most people who used it claimed that it worked well – the few complaints came from damage that occurred during shipping and not being able to get parts now that it’s no longer being manufactured.

So what’s a good substitute? In a similar price range is the Body Max IT600. It has good reviews, and I’ll be adding a more in depth review on this site soon.   The Ironman Inversion Tables also come in a wide range of prices, have overall good reviews, and seem to be very popular.

Overall, I can’t recommend getting a Life Gear Inversion Table.  It’s just too risky with no guarantee and no good ways to find parts.  Sure, you may save a bit, but is that worth getting a product that will just end up being a clothes rack?

fitpro 2009 Deluxe Inversion Therapy Table Part 1 of 2

I purchased the fitpro Deluxe Inversion Therapy Table on Amazon.com after doing some research. I read a lot of the reviews that said it was difficult to put together but a great product. I thought I would record myself assembling it to help those who are thinking about purchasing it or have purchased it and are frustrated with the lack of instructional help. I do love it, now that its assembled.

This is Part 2 of the my instructional video for the fitpro 2009 Deluxe Inversion Therapy Table. I read a lot of the reviews that said it was difficult to put together but a great product. I thought I would record myself assembling it to help those who are thinking about purchasing it or have purchased it and are frustrated with the lack of instructional help. I like the inversion table, its very sturdy, but the leg holders hurt your ankles if your not wearing socks and sneakers.

Body Champ IT 8070 Inversion Therapy Table – Is It Worth It?

body champ IT 8070One of the most popular inversion therapy tables today, the Body Champ IT 8070 is a steal from sites like Amazon.  This table costs significantly less than other models, almost by $150! (At least, at the time of this writing :) It also has some great reviews.  But is there a reason it is so inexpensive?

Well, this is definitely a more basic model.  But if that is all that you need, that is fine.  Some people said it felt a little wobbly upon set up.  But after getting onto it, there were a few clicks as everything settled into place.  I think that would be  a little disorienting, but if you have someone there to help you, it might not be that bad.

One of the biggest drawbacks is that the Body Champ 8070 has thinner padding at the ankles than more expensive models.  So it does start to hurt your feet and ankles after just a minute or so.

It also is a little harder to adjust.  You need to get it set to your center of gravity before you use it consistently, or you’ll find yourself fully inverted rather quickly.  Those who were able to get it adjusted and figure out how to move their arms appropriately soon got used to this problem.

Overall, the 8070 is decent for the price.  But it is probably best used by those a little more used to inverting.  It’s definitely not a beginner’s table.
