Inversion table ankle discomfort?

I have one and love it. Makes my back feel brand new and makes me feel more alert for a bit.

However…the entire experience wreaks havoc on the ankles from the pulling no matter what kind of shoes I have tried. (mine is 2 foam pads on each side )

Does anyone know any method, shoe,or other trickery to bypass this?

Don’t wear shoes but thick socks. I have the same problem and have found that by wearing thick socks and by adjusting the pads the problem has stopped. You will have to look and see which way the pads have rotated and then move them in such a way as when the rotation occurs it moves the pads back to a neutral position. Stay with the table for it works for certain types of back problems.

I have the same issue, actually. I love what the inversion process does for my back, but I always have to come up before I want to because my ankles are killing me. The joints in my ankles get pulled in painful ways, and I can only tolerate that in small amounts. This problem severely mitigates what inverting could do for my back, because I can only stay inverted for a few seconds at a time.

I wear sturdy shoes and thick socks, but again, it’s not an abrasion issue, but a pulling out of joint kind of issue. There must be folks out there who have found a solution to this problem…?
